BARBARA SKUBIC is a Slovenian ceramic maker behind the ceramic brand BECLAY. All products are made by hand by Barbara Skubic – at her studio in the little village of Zaplana.
Barbara works with stoneware and creates modern and simple ceramic pieces. Barbara’s work is inspired by nature and the animals that surround her. She’s especially inspired by the contrasts in nature like the roughness of rocks and the dry soil on the ground against the beauty of flower buds and the soft touch of a cat’s fur.All products are handmade – made in shapes and styles that highlight the clay’s qualities in the finished product. The simple design and raw expression tells the story about the craft of working with clay. Every piece is one of a kind – unique in its shape, color, and details. Most of her ceramics are hand-throwen on the wheel and glazed. Barbara is a founding member of Clayline Collective which is a group of three makers.
Barbara offers pottery workshops for beginners and advanced potters. All classes are in small groups and take place in a lovely pottery studio, imbued with nature in the village of Zaplana.
